Beautifully Monica Creates
About the Artist
Monica is a Metis artist who uses the continuous line to represent the flow state we all wish to achieve and the universal connection we all share. The simplicity of the line work and monochromatics, provide a subtle yet powerful base for a variety of mediums she uses to express. Monica is the recipient of the City of Barrie's 2022 Emerging Artist Award.
Currently, her piece titled Wild Calling is on display at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario in their Gathering Place Exhibition and two indoor murals are featured on the Mural Routes map. She has recently completed two more outdoor murals, within the City of Barrie, working alongside Bareket Kezwer on one commissioned by the Downtown Barrie BIA, as well as her own for The City of Barrie at Lampman Lane Park .
Monica hopes to continue to expand her repertoire further, which includes workshops to showcase the therapeutic benefits of creating art and producing mural work on a more national/international scale.
